The Variety V2 Classic Bike Run is the latest in a portfolio of motoring events that includes the renowned Variety Bash and 4WD Challenge. It is an ‘up market’ event designed to attract motorbike enthusiasts who would enjoy firing up their bikes for a four day luxury cruise requiring no organisation on their part. The emphasis is on good roads, fabulous scenery, great food and wine and of course, as with all Variety events, fun and entertainment.
Over the past three years the event has raised almost ¾ million $ net for children in need. 2011 Chairman Alister Haigh believes that you don't need to go to the USA to find great scenery and long open roads. He believes, "the ride is a terrific way to celebrate the extraordinary fundraising efforts from a group of passionate South Australian bike riders who really dig deep for our sick kids. The V2Classic lives up to the Variety mantra for sustainability in fundraising….Variety certainly puts the FUN into FUNdraising".
The 2011 four day cruise covering 1400km on Goldwings, Electraglides, King Classics and Fat Boys will leave from Adelaide on Thursday 13 October, riding along the Murray and Darling Rivers – now flowing in their glory. Entrants will enjoy fabulous food at Banrock Station, Stefano's in Mildura and Spoons in Swan Hill as well as a dinner cruise on the Mundoo paddle steamer.
The run has been mapped by event route director Ray Stevens, a motorbike expert with years of experience in organising bike events for the discerning rider, both in Australia and overseas.
