The north is alive with the sound of music! Northern Light Theatre Company brings this classic family favourite to the Shedley stage with all the joy and music of the much-loved movie starring Julie Andrews and follows a hugely successful revival on London's West End.

Set in Austria just before the Second World War, The Sound of Music tells the story of Maria - a young novice nun not really suited for religious life who is sent off to be the governess to Captain von Trapp's seven troublesome children. Maria becomes friends with the children bringing the joy of music into their lives and even wins over the strict Captain. It is a story of strong family bonds formed during troubled times.
